Old Photograph The Church Rayne Scotland

Old photograph of the Parish Church in Rayne in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The word Rayne comes from the Scottish Gaelic Raon meaning a field of good ground. Rayne Parish Church was built in the late 18th century on the site of an earlier church, or churches. It lies just off a small country road with a farm and its former worker's cottages a short distance to the south. The church is contained within a fairly large cemetery, which has a number of gravestones that predate the church.
