Old photograph of the Central Public School in Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland. The school was built by local builder James Aitken and officially opened in 1902. It was established to accommodate primary-age pupils who were previously taught at the Anderson Educational Institute, allowing that institution to focus solely on secondary education
