Tour Scotland Travel Video Mince And Neeps Cottage Scone By Perth Perthshire

Tour Scotland travel video Blog of minced beef with neeps with peas and a Yorkshire Pudding in my cottage in Scone by Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Thought I would share some of my favourite meals I cook with you. Mince and neeps is a traditional popular Scottish dish. a turnip or neep is on the outside purplish green, and the inside is pale yellow or orange In England, Wales, Australia and New Zealand, it's called a swede. It did originate in Sweden, where it's called rotabagga. Which gave rise to its American name: rutabaga. Neeps are often fed to sheep when grass is scarce in winter. Sometimes, the sheep will be let into a field of neeps, still in the ground, and simply chomp their way through them.
