Tour Scotland travel video of the George Sidey, Merchant, gravestone on ancestry visit to the Parish Church graveyard in Rattray, Perthshire, Scotland. Erected in memory of George Sidey, Merchant, New Rattray, who died 31st of December 1860, aged 70 years, and of his children George and William who died in infancy and his daughter, Mary Sidey or Arklay, who died 21st of January 1865 and his wife Margaret McIntosh who died January 1888, and their grand-daughter Margaret Arklay who died 1st of January 1830, and their son Robert Sidey who died 5th of July 1890, also George Sidey.

The Sidey surname with variant spellings including Sutty, Syddie, Sidey, Sudy etc., is of Scottish locational origin either from Suddie in the parish of Knockbain in the Black Isle or from Suthie in Perthshire. On November 17th 1710 John Suttie and Catharine Dowglas were married in Abernethy, Perthshire, and on May 16th 1725 Isobel Suttie married Andrew Luke in Inchture, Perthshire.
