Old Photograph Church River Braan Amulree Perthshire Scotland

Old photograph of the church, situated on a knoll, overlooking the River Braan at Amulree, Perthshire, Scotland. Amulree parish church contains copies of records of the large number of people who stayed in the area prior to mass emigration, mostly to North Easthope, Canada, in the early 19th Century. The architect of the church was John Douglas of Edinburgh, a near contemporary of William Adam and it is thought that he was also responsible for the design of Killin church, the Palladianisation of Blair Castle, alterations at Taymouth Castle and the repairs to the palace of Holyrood.
