Tour Scotland Video William Scott McCredie Gravestone Old Kirk Graveyard Kirkcaldy Fife

Tour Scotland video of the William Scott McCredie, gravestone in the Old Kirk cemetery on ancestry visit to Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. Erected by Euphemia McCredie, to the memory of her beloved brother William Scott McCredie, staff assistant and surgeon age 34 years, who to the inexpressable sorrow of his relations was drowned on 13 October 1840, by the upsetting of a boat in the middle of St George's harbour Bermuda.

The surname McCredie was first found in Ayrshire, Gaelic: Siorrachd Inbhir Àir, formerly a county in the southwestern Strathclyde region of Scotland. In medieval Scotland, names were more often spelled according to sound than any regular set of rules. An enormous number of spelling variations were the result. Over the years, the name McCredie has been spelled MacCreadie, MacCredie, MacCready, MacReady, MacRedie and many more.
