Old photograph of the Youth Hostel in Balmacara on the north shore of Loch Alsh near Kyle of Lochalsh, across from Isle of Skye, Scotland. The youth hostel functioned during the post war expansion of the SYHA network in the northwest Highlands, opening in 1950 and closing in 1962.
