Old Photograph St Ninian's Chapel Isle Of Bute Scotland

Old photograph of a father and daughter by the ruins of St Ninian's Chapel on the Isle of Bute, Scotland. St Ninian's Chapel stands on a narrow promontory called St Ninian's Bay. The site is cut off from the mainland at high tides and during storms. The chapel is a ruin, with walls and foundations visible on the ground. The walls are comprised of small, rough and flat shore stones bonded together by red clay. Locally sourced slate stone is also used in the structure. It appears the chapel site was excavated in the past.
