Old photograph of soldiers and buildings on King Street in Kingussie, Scotland. In 1799, Alexander Gordon, the 4th Duke of Gordon, drew up a formal grid plan to establish a brand new planned settlement on the north side of the river. King Street was laid out as a core element of this organized village infrastructure.
