This Scottish cathedral, also called the High Kirk of Glasgow or St Kentigern's or St Mungo's Cathedral, is today part of of the Church of Scotland. Glasgow Cathedral is situated in the east of the city, north of High Street next to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. It is an important Christian building because it was the only cathedral in Scotland which was not destroyed at the Scottish Reformation in 1560. It is also known as St Kentigern’s or St Mungo’s Cathedral. St Mungo, a 6th century AD Christian missionary became patron saint of Glasgow.
