Old Photograph Stonemason Graveyard Perth Perthshire Scotland

Old photograph of a stonemason in a graveyard in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Following the Scottish Reformation of 1560, burial culture shifted dramatically. Rather than looking to the church for salvation, the rising merchant and trade classes began commissioning local stonemasons to carve intricate, deeply symbolic monuments and gravestones.
