Old photograph of the Tolbooth in Inverkeithing, Fife, Scotland. The earliest reference to the Townhouse, or Tolbooth at Inverkeithing, occurs about 1550. In 1687, the townhouse being in a deplorable condition the Town Council agreed that it be repaired.
