Old photograph of St Modan's Parish Church in Rosneath located two miles from Kilcreggan, Scotland. There has been a church at Rosneath since the time of St Modan around 600 AD. The present building, 1853, is by architect David Cousin. The bell from the earlier church, and now on display in the present building, was made by Ian Burgerhuis in 1610 and was rung as a summons to arms during the 1715 Jacobite rebellion. History Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to travel and visit one day.
