Old Photograph Ranfurly Castle Scotland

Old photograph of Ranfurly Castle by Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, near Glasgow, Scotland. Ranfurly Castle was built in the 15th century and was the seat of the Knox family who, in the 19th century, took the title of Earl of Ranfurly in the Peerage of Ireland. Remains of the Castle exist today as part of the Old Course Ranfurly Golf Club and has been derelict since 1665. History Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to travel and visit one day.
