Old photograph of houses, cottages and children on Stirling Street in Blackford located five miles from Auchterarder, Perthshire, Scotland. Local legend claims the name originated from a " black ford " where King Magnus's wife, Queen Helen, drowned in a storm. The area was a stopping point, and the first public brewery was established here. Legend has it that William Wallace defeated an English force at the ford around 1296.
