Old Photograph School Spean Bridge Scotland

Old photograph of the school in Spean Bridge, Scotland. This Scottish village, in the Great Glen, takes its name from the Highbridge over the River Spean on General Wade's Highlands military road between Fort William and Fort Augustus. The Highbridge Skirmish on 16 August 1745 was the first engagement of the Jacobite Rising of 1745. Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to travel and visit one day.
