Old Photograph Achamore House Isle Of Gigha Scotland

Old photograph of Achamore House on the Isle of Gigha, a small island off the West coast of Kintyre, in Argyll, Scotland. The house was built in between 1882 and 1884 by Captain James Scarlett, the laird of the island, to designs by John Honeyman, born 1831, died 1914, around an 18th Century building. It had to be rebuilt after a fire in 1896, by the same architect, but quite possibly with the assistance of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, born 1868, died 1928.
