Old Photograph Tourists Mackays Hotel Pitlochry Highland Perthshire Scotland

Old photograph of tourists standing outside Mackays Hotel in Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire, Scotland. The site was first leased in 1864 to Robert McGregor and Peter Morrison, who were later joined by Francis Henry, a merchant who bought the lease in 1888. The building was used as a guest house from 1945 to 1959 by Mrs. Margaret Brown. Donald Macdonald took over in 1959, creating a cafe in 1961 and a fish and chip shop in 1963. His son Neil became a partner in 1971, and Donald retired in 1977.
