Old Photograph Auchenskeoch Lodge Scotland

Old photograph of Auchenskeoch Lodge by Dalbeattie in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The lands of Auchenskeoch first appeared in crown records in 1462, and a formal lease was issued to the Lindsay family in 1490. Several generations of the Lindsay family served as falconers for Scottish monarchs, including James IV, James V, and Mary, Queen of Scots. The family's history included a long-running feud with their cousins at Fairgirth. John Lindsay was outlawed in 1587 for failing to produce a tenant accused of purchasing stolen goods.
