Old photograph of Rusko Castle by Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. This Scottish castle dates from the early 16th century. In early times it belonged to the Carsnane family and was known as Glenskyreburn before it passed by marriage in the early 16th century to Sir Robert Gordon of Lochinvar. It was inhabited until around 1890. Sir Robert Gordon of Lochinvar was the son of Sir John Gordon of Lochinvar and Elizabeth Maxwell, ex husband of Isabel Ruthven. Father of John Gordon, 1st Viscount Kenmure; Mary Gordon; Elizabeth Maxwell and Jane Gordon. Brother of Janet Gordon of Lochinvar; Grizel Gordon, Countess of Galloway and James Gordon of Buittle.Half brother of Margaret Gordon.
