Tour Scotland self catering holiday cottage recommendation in Invermoriston, in the Highlands Of Scotland.
Glen Croft Cottage is a detached, stone cottage situated on a small holiday park, on the outskirts of the village of Invermoriston, a ten minute walk to Loch Ness. This single-storey cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one twin, as well as a bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchen with breakfast area and a sitting room with dining area and electric fire. Outside, there is ample off road parking and a side lawn garden with patio, furniture and barbecue. The small village of Invermoriston is situated within walking distance of Loch Ness. There are many walks in the area, and the River Moriston, the Glenurquhart Castle and the Great Glen Water Park are close by. Also within driving distance is the city of Inverness.
Glen Croft is a detached stone crofters cottage in a private and peaceful location on a small holiday park, half a mile from Loch Ness on the outskirts of the village of Invermoriston in the magnificent Highlands of Scotland. The cottage is on one level and consists of a double and twin bedrooms and a bathroom, along with a sitting/dining room, which has a homely atmosphere. It has a large fitted kitchen with breakfast area, with door to access to a private side patio. The views from the garden are widespread and breathtaking. Just a short walk from this cottage is the village of invermoriston across River Moriston with its Thomas Telford bridge. There is a games room with dartboard and pool table, on the park and laundry. The village of Invermoriston itself has a friendly local inn providing good pub food, as well as many events including ceilidh evenings in the village hall. The ruins of Glenurquhart Castle are close by, or stroll along the Caledonian Canal, which runs to Fort Augustus. Invermoriston is a perfect base for a holiday as you can easily enjoy a day trip to the west and cross the bridge to Skye, head to Drumnadrochit to the north or journey east into the city of Inverness. Also a trip to this part of Scotland isn't complete without visiting Loch Ness, you may even catch a glimpse of Nessie, the monster. Mountain biking, horse riding, fishing, cruises to spot dolphins or Nessie; whatever you wish to do, this Highland cottage is the perfect base and ensures an unforgettable holiday for all.
The Granary sits in a fifty acre estate on the shores of mystical Loch Ness. A perfect setting for either a restful holiday or an action packed time. Boat trips, bike hire, fishing and bagging Munros, castles and distilleries are all within an easy drive. The well kept grounds offer walks to the Loch, a wee boat to potter on the pond, a summer house to sit and read or meditate. The village of Invermoriston provides a hotel restaurant and bar and a seasonal café, but is close to Fort Augustus with its many restaurants and cafes. The lounge upstairs has comfortable seating in 2 areas, a quiet space and a family setting. The master bedroom offers a bathroom en-suite with 2 showers. The family bedroom downstairs has 2 bunk beds and a double bed has a separate wet room and toilet. The fully equipped kitchen has a Rangemaster stove, gas and electric, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Laundry facilities available.
