Old photograph of cottages in Midlem, a small village located four miles South of Selkirk, Border. Scotland. Robert Elliot Second Laird of Midlem was born in 1647, in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland, United Kingdom as the son of Gavin or Gawin Elliott of Orange or Middleham and Lady Elizabeth Johnston. He married Elizabeth Poll on 7 December 1678, in Scotland, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 9 daughters. He died in September 1725, in Midlem Mill, Roxburghshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, at the age of 78.
