Tour Scotland Video Reaper Herring Drifter Anstruther June 11th

Tour Scotland video shot this morning of the Reaper Herring Drifter leaving Anstruther, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. A rainy morning in Anstruther, the wonderful East Neuk fishing village in the Kingdom of Fife, just 9 miles South of St Andrews, where I was raised in Scotland. The boat was going to St Monans this morning, just a few miles from Anstruther, on board was the Sea Queen for this year for the village of St Monans.

Recollections of East Fife Fisher folk. During the early part of the 20th century, fishing still formed one of the main industries in the famous corner of Fife. Belle Patrick spent her first 30 years in Anstruther, and in the mid 1960s wrote this memoir to put on record the fishing way of life, believing it to be so independent.
