The field of yellow is Rapeseed, Brassica napus, also known as rape, oilseed rape, rapa, rappi, rapaseed and, in the case of one particular group of cultivars, canola, is a bright yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae, mustard or cabbage family. The name derives from the Latin for turnip, rāpum or rāpa, and is first recorded in English at the end of the 14th century. The Parish Church, which is near Luthrie, was built between 1830 and 1832. It is a handsome structure, and contains 252 sittings. There is a Free Church, jointly for Creich and Flisk, at Brunton. In addition to the Parish School which is at Luthrie, there is a Free Church School at Brunton.
