Tour Scotland Photograph Reverend John Kirk Gravestone Arbirlot Angus
Tour Scotland photograph of the Reverend John Kirk gravestone in the churchyard cemetery in Arbirlot, Angus, Scotland. Sacred to the memory of the Reverend John Kirk, First Minister of the Free Church of this Parish who died in March of 1858, aged 63.
Kirk is an Anglo Scottish surname which is ultimately of Norwegian pre 7th century origins. Found originally in the north of England and in Scotland, it can be either a topographical name denoting residence near a church, or a metonymic occupational name for someone employed in a church.
