Tour Scotland Photograph Bell Tower Tillicoultry

Tour Scotland travel photography of the Bell Tower on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. The bell tower, campanile, was added to the hall below in 1879. James Archibald of Robert Archibald & Sons, woollen manufacturer in Tillicoultry and proprietor of the villa Beechwood, provided £1,500 for its construction. Originally the clock tower had a crown which was lost at some point due to a lightning strike. The architects of both hall and tower were John Melvin and Son.
