Tour Scotland Video Winter Drive To Clan Donnachaid Church Struan Highland Perthshire



Tour Scotland Winter video of a drive West on the B847 narrow road to Struan Church and cemetery which is above the bridge over the River Errochty on ancestry, genealogy, visit to Highland Perthshire, Scotland. There is documentary evidence of the existence of a parish church in Struan as far back as the thirteenth century. The present church was built in 1828. The church is the most sacred place in Clan Donnachaidh, Clan Robertson, country and has a history as a religious site going back to the earliest times that mankind occupied the area. Long before the first Christian missionary ventured into Atholl, it was a place of Druidic worship as witnessed by the old Druid Stone still standing in the old churchyard. Clan Donnachaidh country, spiritual home to clan members which include Robertson, Duncan, McConnachie, Reid and McLagan.
