Tour Scotland Self Catering Holiday Cottage Recommendations Bonar Bridge

Tour Scotland self catering holiday cottage recommendation in Bonar Bridge, Sutherland, Scotland.

Monach House is a traditional stone cottage, situated in the centre of the Highland village of Bonar Bridge. All the rooms are warm and comfortable and bathrooms have powerful showers with unlimited hot water. Breakfasts for B & B guests are home AGA cooked, using local produce. Evening meals can be provided on request, and a variety of tasty menu options await you. We are centrally placed to explore the dramatic scenery of whole of the North of Scotland. From here you can readily reach the rugged West coast, the cliff tops of Caithness and the North coast and yet the thriving city of Inverness is still only a 40 minute drive away. This is a beautiful area with award winning beaches, amazing scenery and many activities, fishing, golfing, walking and mountain biking to name but a few. You are also within an easy stroll of shops, hotels, a cafe and a bistro as well as the beautiful Kyle of Sutherland which is literally a stone's throw away. Nearby places of interest for tourists visiting the area include: Carbisdale Castle, a folly castle built by the dowager duchess of Sutherland; Croick Church, with its evocative engravings on the church windows from sufferers of the Highland Clearances in the Amat area.

Migdale Water Mill is a listed mid 18th century, restored oatmeal mill situated in a beautiful wooded setting about a mile and a half from Bonar Bridge in the Scottish Highlands. The mill offers first class self catering accommodation with easy access to some of the world's finest golf courses, historic towns, areas of outstanding natural beauty and excellent restaurants. Migdale Water Mill is only 15 minutes from Dornoch and Tain and an hour from Inverness Airport.

Achue cottage is situated in open countryside 2 miles outside Bonar Bridge. Achue sits on a working croft well away from other houses or any noise but is still close to shops, hotels and cafes. It is an excellent centre for walking, cycling or touring the Northern Highlands. Or just relax in the centrally heated, triple glazed sun lounge and watch the stunning panorama unfold in front of you, possibly with a glass of whisky from one of the nearby whisky distilleries. There are golf courses, including the famous Royal Dornoch, near by plus fishing, mountain bike trails and walks of all grades. Inverness is 1 hour to the south, John o Groats and the north coast 2 hours north, the hills of the west are less than 2 hours away. Dornoch 12 miles away has excellent beaches and some good restaurant.
