Tour Scotland photograph of seagulls in flight near the St Andrews Castle in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. Shot these photographs down by the old harbour in St Andrews. The castle sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a small beach called Castle Sands and the adjoining North Sea. There has been a castle standing at the site since the times of Bishop Roger, 1189 to 1202, son of the Earl of Leicester. It housed the burgh’s wealthy and powerful bishops while St Andrews served as the ecclesiastical centre of Scotland during the years before the Protestant Reformation.

St Andrews. The Home of Golf. This is a lavish, full-colour exploration of the Scottish town whose name is synonymous with golf. St Andrews - once Scotland's greatest city, the cradle of its religion and the birthplace of its first university; today the ancient burg is known the world over as the spiritual home of golf, a place that evokes images of windswept seaside links and legendary golfing champions. "St Andrews: The Home of Golf" celebrates this unique haven of the game through striking pictures by renowned golf photographer Kevin Murray, while the authors' blend of history, personal observations and anecdotes distills centuries of golfing tradition into lively, atmospheric prose. Tour Scotland video of the old church by the sea in St Monans, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. St Monans Church is situated within its kirkyard just to the west of the village on the very edge of the sea. It has a very dramatic setting, perched on a low rock, reached over a small valley with a burn. As seen from most directions it has the sea as a backdrop. A more modern cemetery stands further westwards on the upper slopes of the little hill. This contains the local war memorial. Standing at the extreme west end of this a romantic ruin can be viewed across fields, again perched on the sea edge. It is often said that St Monans is the church nearest the sea in the whole of Scotland.

Tour Scotland Video Drive To Carnbee East Neuk Of Fife
Tour Scotland travel video of a road trip drive on ancestry history visit to the parish church in Carnbee, East Neuk of Fife. This church was constructed in 1793 by Andrew Horsburgh, probably using the fabric of a previous church on the site. It is a rectangular, six-bay building with a session house to the west. The church is aligned east to west and is located a couple of miles inland of the fishing village of Pittenweem and around ten miles away from the famous St Andrews, on the east coast of Scotland. Situated about 1/4 of a mile from Carnbee is Kellie Castle formerly the seat of the Earl of Kellie and is also where the famous Lorimer family lived.
