The coal tit bird is mainly found in coniferous woodland, but can also be spotted in gardens and parks. Coal tits are active feeders, hunting out insects and spiders among the smaller branches and leaves of trees in woodlands. But they are also well adapted to gardens and towns and will visit bird tables and feeders. In winter, they form flocks with other tits, roaming woodlands and gardens. With its bright red breast ithe Robin bird is a familiar visitor to my garden. There are tales stretching back to Norse mythology where the robin is the protector from storms and lightning. And in Celtic folklore the robin is known as the Oak King of Summer. The well known phrase, " When robins appear, loved ones are near ", alludes to the belief that the robin is a messenger. When robins are seen, some people take comfort that loved ones are at peace, and many believe that their lost loved ones are visiting them. Spring Road Trip Drive With Bagpipes Music On History Visit To Burrelton Perthshire Scotland

Burrelton is small Scottish village is located about 12 miles from Perth and 15 miles from Dundee. It is joined onto another smaller village, Woodside. At the end of the 18th Century a new turnpike road from Perth was constructed by private subscription. James Lamond was born on 29 November 1928 in Burrelton. His father worked for the London and North Eastern Railway. He was educated at schools in Burrelton and Coupar Angus, before becoming an apprentice draughtsman at the Hall and Company shipyard in Aberdeen in 1942, aged 14. He could not afford the fees to study naval architecture in Newcastle, and worked as a draughtsman for the North east Scotland Regional Hospital Board. After he failed to be selected for the safe Labour seat of Aberdeen North, losing out to Robert Hughes, he found favour instead in Oldham East, where he was elected as Member of Parliament in June 1970. After constituency boundaries were redrawn for the 1983 election, he moved to the new seat of Oldham Central and Royton, selected ahead of Joel Barnett. With his wife June Wellburn in 1954, Lamond had three daughters, all of whom survived him. He suffered from pneumonia in later life. He died on 20 November 2007. Magpies are, in fact, small crows, and are omnivorous, feeding on carrion, invertebrates, and chicks and eggs. It is mainly black, with a white belly and white patches on the shoulders and wings.
