Tour Scotland Video Walk In Scottish Bluebells Wood Castle Gardens Wemyss Fife

Tour Scotland travel video of a walk in Scottish Bluebells woods on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit and trip to Wemyss Castle Gardens in Fife. Wemyss Castle is located on the cliffs between the villages of East Wemyss and West Wemyss overlooking the Firth of Forth.. Accounts date the construction of the castle to the year 1421 when Sir John Wemyss decided to build a fortified castle to replace one destroyed by the Duke of Rothesay at Kilconquhar in 1402. The castle is thus the ancient seat of the Earls of Wemyss and their families. The castle is best known as the location where Mary, Queen of Scots, met her future husband Lord Darnley in 1565.

Tour Scotland Video Photographs Small Group Tour Church And Cemetery Kinfauns Perthshire

Tour Scotland wee travel video of photography from a small group tour ancestry, genealogy, family history visit and trip to the parish cemetery and church in Kinfauns, Perthshire. The old church here was the parish church of Kinfauns until about 1857 when it was abandoned. It is now roofless and the walls very much reduced, except for the south aisle, dated 1598, the burial place of the Grays of Kinfauns. The rest of the church is probably 15th century, although considerably altered after the Reformation. The French knight Sir Walter de Longueville, who helped King Robert the Bruce capture the Fair City of Perth, was buried at Kinfauns and his huge sword was uncovered there centuries later. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
