The village centres around the 12th century former parish church of St. Serf. Saint Serf or Serbán, born around 500 AD is a saint of Scotland. Serf was venerated in western Fife. He is also sometimes called the apostle of Orkney. Saint Serf is connected with Saint Mungo's Church near Simonburn, Northumberland, England. His feast day is 1 July. February is not the best month to visit.

Tour Scotland wee video of photographs of Forter in Glenisla, Scotland. Forter Castle was built by James Ogilivy, the 5th Lord of Airlie, in 1560 to protect the Balloch Pass route to Glenshee from intrusion. James Ogilvy’s grandson James Ogilvy, the 7th Lord of Airlie, was created the 1st Earl of Airlie by Charles II in 1639. In 1650, James refused to sign the National Covenant, so Fortar castle was burnt down by the Duke of Argyll, Archibald Campbell, along with Airlie Castle. The Ogilvys moved to Cortachy Castle. In 1988, the castle was rebuilt by Robert Pooley.

Tour Scotland Video Snowdrops Cambo Estate Kingbarns Fife



Tour Scotland video Snowdrops on Cambo Estate in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. Cambo Estate lies close to the village of Kingsbarns and is is located six miles south east of St Andrews and just North of Crial. The gardens of Cambo are open to the public, and include the walled garden and seasonal snowdrop gardens. Elsewhere on the estate is the Kingsbarns Links golf course, which co hosts the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship every year.
