Tour Scotland travel of the 51st Highland Division War Memorial on the North Inch Park on ancestry, history visit and trip to Perth, Perthshire. One of my favourite Scottish War Memorials. A soldier with bagpipes and a child with a flower.

Tour Scotland Autumn Video Sunset Elie East Neuk of Fife

Tour Scotland Autumn travel video of sunset at the Elie Ness Lighthouse on history visit and trip to the coast of Elie, East Neuk of Fife. Lighthouse was built following shipowners’ complaints that they couldn’t see the Isle of May or Inchkeith lighthouses in poor weather. Elie and Earlsferry is a coastal village and former royal burgh in Fife, and parish, Scotland, situated within the East Neuk beside Chapel Ness on the north coast of the Firth of Forth, eight miles east of Leven. The burgh comprised the linked villages of Elie and Earlsferry, which were formally merged in 1930 by the Local Government Act of 1929. To the north is the village of Kilconquhar and Loch of Kilconquhar. Golfers, clubmakers and course designers James Braid, Archie Simpson, and Isaac Mackie were born in Earlsferry. The film The Winter Guest, starring Emma Thompson and Phyllida Law, directed by Alan Rickman, was filmed here. The famous Floral clock Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh was originally constructed in 1903 using the clock mechanism salvaged from Elie Parish Church. In recent decades, the town has become a very popular destination for wealthy residents of Glasgow and Edinburgh. In the summer months the town's population is several times higher than it is during the winter. Attractions include the beach, watersports, golf, restaurants, surfing and sailing.
