Tour Scotland photograph of the Anderson Stained Glass Window in St John's Kirk, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. This window was the gift of Mr John Lennox Anderson, in memory of his wife, Marion Proudfoot Anderson. The first historical reference to a church dedicated to St. John the Baptist in Perth was in 1126, in a grant from King David I.

Tour Scotland Photographs Video Shrine Stained Glass Window Perth Perthshire

Tour Scotland photograph of the Shrine Stained Glass Window in St John's Kirk, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. This window, part of the World War 1 memorial, is the work of Morris Meredith Williams, and illustrates the text " And there was war in Heaven ". Morris Meredith Williams, born 1881, died 1973, was a British painter and illustrator. Born in Cowbridge, Wales, Williams studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, England. He married the sculptor Alice Meredith Williams in 1906, and lived in Edinburgh until 1929, when he moved to Devon. Williams worked in landscape and genre painting, stained glass, engraving and illustration. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London and at the Royal Scottish Academy. Several works by him are held by museums and galleries in Liverpool. He drew the naval and military figures for the frieze, modeled by his wife, of the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle.

Tour Scotland photograph of the Black Watch Memorial Window in St John's Kirk, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. This window was unveiled by H.M.Queen Elizabeth, the late Queen Mother, in 1955. It is dedicated to the Officers and men of the 6th Battalion Black Watch who gave their lives in the Second World War.

Tour Scotland photograph shot at lunchtime of the River Tay in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Tayside Fire and Rescue were down by the river at lunchtime. Seems to have been a false alarm as they left quite soon after their arrival.
