Tour Scotland St Andrews Slideshow

Tour Scotland St Andrews Slideshow. A small selection of my thousands of photographs of St Andrews, where I lived for 12 years. A famous seat of learning and the home of golf. Its rich heritage includes a 12th Century cathedral, 13th Century castle and 15th Century university. Today the town has a charm all its own and is a busy holiday resort in summer, reverting to the role of a university town in term time with an active cultural life.

October 19th Photograph Elcho Castle Scotland

October 19th photograph of Elcho Castle, Perthshire, Scotland. Located at Easter Elcho, Rhynd in Perth and Kinross, Elcho Castle was built in the latter half of the 16th century for the Wemyss family, whose descendents still own it, although it is now in the care of Historic Scotland. Overlooking the River Tay, the tower-shaped castle has many original features, including the ruins of the courtyard, the chapel and a round tower with kiln.
