October 2nd Photograph Claypotts Castle Scotland
October 2nd photograph of Claypotts Castle, Dundee, Scotland. This is a medieval castle located in the suburban West Ferry area of Dundee, Scotland. The castle was originally built by John Strachan around the period of 1569 and 1588 according to dates inscribed on stones that make up parts of the castle, which make its construction longer than usual for such a small building. The land on which the castle was built was originally leased by the Strachan family from Tironensian Abbey of Lindores starting in the early sixteenth century. In 1601 the Strachan family sold the castle to Sir William Graham of Ballunie who later sold it to Sir William Graham of Claverhouse. The castle became the property of the crown in 1689 after the death of the then current owner Viscount Dundee John Graham of Claverhouse at the battle of Killiecrankie.

Tour Haunted Ballindalloch Castle Scotland
Tour haunted Ballindalloch Castle, Scotland. This Scottish castle is also known as The Pearl of the North. The castle is located between Dufftown and Grantown-on-Spey, in Moray, Scotland. The first tower of the Z plan castle was built in 1546. After it was plundered and burned by James Graham, the first Marquess of Montrose, it was restored in 1645. Extensions were added in 1770 by General James Grant of the American Wars of Independence (whose ghost is said to haunt the castle) and in 1850 by the architect Thomas MacKenzie. Further extensions carried out in 1878 were mostly demolished during and modernisations enacted in 1965. It has been continuously occupied by the Russell and Macpherson-Grant families throughout its existence. The castle houses an important collection of 17th century Spanish paintings. The dining room of Ballindalloch is said to be haunted by a ghost known as The Green Lady.
