Tour Scotland Photographs Thatched Cottages Rait Perthshire


Tour Scotland photograph of thatched cottages in Rait, Perthshire, Scotland. Rait is situated 2.5 miles North West of Errol, in the Gowrie area west of Dundee. The former parish church, now ruined, was built in the Middle Ages, and abandoned in the 17th century when the parish of Rait was merged with Kilspindie. The remains of a prehistoric promontory fort lie to the east of the village.

August 21st Video Samba Band Perth Scotland


August 21st video of the Pulse Of The Place Samba Band in Perth, Scotland. These young drummers are from Edinburgh, Scotland. They formed in August 2006 with around 8 drummers and now have approximately 69 drummers in the full band, aged from 7yrs to 21yrs. They are now the biggest youth samba band in Scotland.

Tour Scotland video of accordionists playing on a windy day in Perthshire, Scotland. The accordion originated in Italy in the early 19th century and became popular all over Europe. It quickly found its place in Scottish music, its greater power lending itself to playing alongside the fiddle in dance bands, and its complexity allowing it to play a wide variety of tunes and styles.
