Loch Ness is the alleged home of the Loch Ness Monster, also known as Nessie, a cryptid, reputedly a large unknown animal. It is similar to other supposed lake monsters in Scotland and elsewhere, though its description varies from one account to the next. Popular interest and belief in the animal's existence has varied since it was first brought to the world's attention in 1933.

Tour Scotland photograph of a Burn, which is the Scots word for a Stream or small river, in Glen Affric, Scotland. A Scottish glen located south west of the village of Cannich, fifteen miles to the west of Loch Ness. It used to be part of the lands of the Clan Chisholm.

Old photograph of Castle Leod, Scotland. This Scottish Castle is located near Strathpeffer in the east of Ross-shire in the Scottish Highlands. It is currently the seat of the Chief of the Clan MacKenzie, although the lands belonged to the Chief of the Clan MacLeod of Lewis until the 17th century.
