June 13th Photograph Gehl Manure Spreader Scotland

June 13th photograph of Clydesdale Horses pulling a vintage Gehl Manure Spreader at Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland. The roots of Gehl Company go back to 1859, when Louis Lucas opened an iron foundry in central Wisconsin. Lucas established his business in order to manufacture plows and cultivators, and for the repair of farm implements. As more and more immigrants from Europe swept into the Midwest, settled down, and started farms of their own, they came to rely heavily on the services provided by men like Lucas. The Gehl shown above was brought to Scotland from Winsconsin, USA.

Legendary Form Tractors contains more colour photographs of more types of farm tractors than any book on the market. The book contains over 640 photographs of tractors from the USA, Canada, Europe, and Japan which cover models from the 1880s to today. The photos are accompanied by detailed captions. The tractors are organised alphabetically by make so readers can easily find their favourites. The book's coverage ranges from familiar makes such as John Deere, Ford, Farmall, Case, Caterpillar, and International Harvester to obscure tractors that have seldom been seen, such as the special streamlined Porsche coffee plantation tractor that looks more like a Porsche sports car than a John Deere. The extensive variety of material and the excellent photographs taken by the renowned English photographer Andrew Morland, make this an exceptionally good book that will appeal to tractor buffs and to those looking for a giftbook for the tractor enthusiast. June 12th Photograph River Tay Scotland

June 12th photograph shot at dusk of the River Tay near Dundee, Scotland. Beautiful Silvery Tay. William McGonagall expressed a love of Homeric epithets in his poetry, and for him, just as Dundee was always " Bonnie ", the River Tay was always " Silvery " McGonagall: A Selection.
