Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt On Lunna Ness On History Visit To Mainland Shetland Islands Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and sporran and walking by cliffs on Lunna Ness on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the coast of Mainland, Shetland Islands, Britain, United Kingdom. The peninsula is rarely more than a mile wide and is pinched tightly between East and West Lunna Voe, nearly turning the tip into an island. it is known for its wild, glaciated landscape and the crashing waves of the North Sea. Lunna Ness played a pivotal, secret role during World War II. Following the German occupation of Norway in 1940, Britain's Special Operations Executive needed a hidden base to support the Norwegian resistance. Using unassuming Norwegian fishing boats, brave crews braved the dangerous waves of the North Sea to travel 150 miles to the Norwegian fjords. They smuggled spies, saboteurs, ammunition, and radios into occupied territory, and brought back refugees escaping Nazi rule.
