An ancient standing stone used in local folklore as a site for public humiliation and justice. Located on a low mound near the historic, cleared village of A'Chill, the stone stands roughly 6 feet high and features a small notch or hole near its top. According to island tradition, unruly locals or wrongdoers were punished by having their thumbs wedged firmly into the hole. They were forced to remain restrained against the stone until they repented or completed their sentence.
