It is an ornate footbridge spanning the Lugar Water. In 1899 Scottish architect Robert Weir Schultz originally sketched the bridge for his close friend, the 3rd Marquess of Bute. The original design remained unbuilt for 118 years. The bridge features an eye catching, double curved timber roof. Golden Dragons: Four hand carved dragons finished in gold leaf adorn the roof corners.Copper Cladding: The complex, fragile roof structure is clad entirely in copper.
