Tour Scotland short 4K travel video clip, of a Sotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran playing bagpipes music on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Blair Castle in Highlands of Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. This Scottish castle is the ancestral home of the Clan Murray, and was historically the seat of their chief, the Duke of Atholl. Blair Castle is uniquely home to the Atholl Highlanders, Europe's only remaining legal private army. Originally raised as a regular regiment in 1777, they were later reinstated as the Duke's personal bodyguard. In 1844, Queen Victoria was so impressed by them during her stay that she granted them regimental colours and the right to bear arms.. They serve a purely ceremonial role, parading annually during the Atholl Gathering. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. The date for astronomical Spring is 20th March, ending on 21st June
