Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt By Deepdale Stone On Spring History Visit To Orkney Islands Scotland

Tour Scotland very short 4K Spring travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking by the neolithic Deepdale Standing Stone on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the parish of Stromness, Orkney Islands, Britain, United Kingdom. Historically, there were two standing stones at this site, set about 120 feet apart. The second, southern stone was taller but became loosened by years of ploughing and was eventually removed by a farmer between the 1940s and late 1970s. The modern name comes from the nearby Deepdale farm. Older records suggest an earlier name, possibly Riggin, Old Norse for " the ridge ", which may reflect its geographic position. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. The date for astronomical Spring is 20th March, ending on 21st June All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
