Tour Scotland very short 4K Winter travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and sporran and walking on windy Riggs Bay Beach on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the coast of Dumfries and Galloway, Britain, United Kingdom. Rigg Bay is a secluded sandy beach located on the eastern side of the Machars Peninsula. Rigg Bay’s most notable historical contribution was serving as a secret testing ground for the Mulberry Harbours, the massive portable floating docks used during the D-Day landings in Normandy in 1944. The name "Rigg" is derived from the Scottish and Northern English word for " ridge ", likely referring to the surrounding topography or the medieval " ridge and furrow " system of farming. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
