Tour Scotland very short 4K Winter travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and walking by cliffs on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the coast of Isle of Eigg, Inner Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. Scottish Gaelic: Eige it is one of the Small Isles. Known as the jewel in the Hebridean crown for its outstanding beauty and natural heritage, geology and archaeology, Eigg has many other cultural and historical attractions. Picts and Vikings have left their mark, and the island's rich history is steeped in clan warfare and the crofting way of life. In 1588 Eigg was plundered by Spanish mercenaries; and in the aftermath of the 1745 rebellion the island was again sacked and the young men deported in reprisal for supporting the losing side. And if all this were not enough, Eigg was subjected to some clearance after a change of ownership in 1829. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
