Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt By Loch Ericht On Autumn History Visit To Highlands Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K late Autumn travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and sporran and walking by icy Loch Ericht on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the Highlands, Britain, United Kingdom. The area around Loch Ericht has links to the Jacobite rising. A small cave on the eastern side of the loch is said to have provided shelter and concealment for the Jacobite leader, Cluny Macpherson, after the Battle of Culloden in 1746. He hid in the area, often referred to as " Cluny's Cage " for nearly nine years before escaping to France. Ben Alder Cottage, a well known bothy near the loch, has a history steeped in local folklore and ghost stories, many of which were fabricated by former residents to deter unwelcome visitors, though tales of poltergeist activity persist among hikers. Loch Ericht occupies a deep trench cut by glaciers through the Grampian Mountains, exploiting the ancient Loch Ericht Fault, which runs parallel to the famous Great Glen Fault. The glacier excavated a trench at least 450 meters deep, resulting in a landscape of wild desolation and solemn grandeur, with the loch's surface sitting at an elevation of 1,153 feet above sea level. Autumn leaf color or colour is a phenomenon that affects the normally green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the Autumn season, various shades of red, yellow, purple, black, orange, pink, magenta, blue and brown. The phenomenon is commonly called autumn colours or autumn foliage in British English and fall colors, fall foliage or simply foliage in American.
