According to legend, the victorious Clan Donald threw the heads of fallen MacLeods into the river. The place at the river's mouth is known as " Coirre nan Ceann " or " the Yair of the Heads. " The name " Snizort " likely comes from Old Norse and could mean " split firth " or " snow firth ". The river is formed by the confluence of two smaller rivers, the Glenmore River and the Abhainn an Acha-leathain. Autumn leaf color or colour is a phenomenon that affects the normally green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the Autumn season, various shades of red, yellow, purple, black, orange, pink, magenta, blue and brown.
