Charles Wilkie Barclay was born in Carnbo on 26 May 1869. John Peterkin was born on 20 June 1852 in Carnbo He was the son of Alexander Peterkin and Catherine Glass and he died on 3 November 1923 in Leith, Edinburgh aged 72. Carnbo is a small settlement on the A91. The name comes from the Gaelic: " carn " comes from " cairn ", hill or heap of stones and " bo " means cow. Carnbo is on the former Cattle Drovers' Route. Carnbo used to have a school, which is now a village hall. Carnbo lies on the lower south-facing slopes of the Ochil Hills, 4 miles West of Milnathort. A former toll house here used to extract road toll money from cattle drovers who crossed the Ochils by this route.
