Dochfour Gardens With Music On History Visit Near Inverness, Highlands Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K travel video, with Scottish music, of Dochfour Gardens overlooking Loch Dochfour on ancestry, genealogy history visit and trip near Inverness, Highlands, Britain, United Kingdom. Dochfour has been the ancestral home of the Baillie family since the middle of the 5th centurywhen they were granted the lands following their service in the Battle of Brechin. The family's lineage, however, is much older, tracing back to the de Baliols, who arrived in Britain with William the Conqueror in 1066. A significant branch of the de Baliol family became involved in Scottish affairs, with John de Baliol even briefly serving as King of Scotland. To distance themselves from the Scottish throne when Robert the Bruce became king, some de Baliols adopted the surname Baillie. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
